Travel Day 1

After flying to Seattle and walking around the city waiting for the late train, I'm now comfortably sitting watching the waves before we turn inland. 
Unfortunately there was a train that derailed around glacier and I must now exit at whitefish and take a bus to the west glacier train stop. I'm hoping between the late train(2hrs) and the bus i arrive early enough tomorrow to figure out a permit for the night.  I submitted a permit with 3 options about 6 wks ago but unfortunately the park still hasn't responded.  
Oh well!  So excited- the walking starts tomorrow!!! :)

    Looks like a slow beginning. Love the picture! Hope you can keep posting photos, can't wait to see the scenery.

    We are the folks you talked to in Seattle depot who ended up being bussed in Glacier also. We sure wondered if all was well the next day when it rained and snowed as we drove the Going to the Sun highway. We wish you success and will keep checking in to see how it's going.

    We met some Boy Scouts on the train we overheard talking about a young woman they met who asked to came near them and we wondered if it was you😊

    So far, she's been ok. Had to take a day off the trail, but sounds like she'll be moving again today. I'll ask her to update this blog and tell her adventures here. And maybe post some of her wonderful pictures of that little traveled region!
